The Stitch Pattern / Terms
Terms of sale and use
Last updated 15 August 2026
Plain version: you upload a photo, the site turns it into a chart on your own device, and if you like it you pay once for the PDF. The pattern is yours. The photo has to be yours to use.
Who we are
The Stitch Pattern is operated by the site owner named at the bottom of this page. Questions about these terms go to hello@thestitchpattern.com.
What you are buying
A single payment unlocks a PDF pattern generated from the photo and settings you had on screen at the time. The PDF contains a cover sheet, a DMC floss list with estimated skein counts, a colour chart, a black and white chart, and stitching notes. It is generated on your device and downloaded directly; nothing is stored on our servers.
An unlock is recorded in the browser you paid from and remains valid there for the period stated on the site. You may regenerate and re-download patterns during that period, including after adjusting settings. Clearing your browser storage removes the record; contact us with your Stripe receipt if that happens and we will help.
What you may do with the pattern
- Stitch it as many times as you like, for yourself or as a gift.
- Sell physical pieces you have stitched yourself from it.
- Print it for your own use.
You may not resell, redistribute, or publish the chart file itself, whether on its own or as part of a collection.
The photos you upload
Photos are processed entirely inside your browser and are never transmitted to us. You are responsible for having the right to use whatever you upload. Do not chart photographs, artwork, characters or logos that belong to someone else without their permission. If you are asked to stop using an image, that is between you and the rights holder, and we cannot resolve it for you.
Estimates are estimates
Skein counts, finished sizes and fabric requirements are calculated from standard figures and include a safety margin. Real consumption varies with tension, technique and how far you carry thread on the back. Treat the floss list as a good shopping guide, not a guarantee.
DMC colour values are matched from published colour data. Screens and printers differ, and dyed thread differs from both, so always confirm a shade against a physical colour card before buying in quantity.
Refunds
If the PDF fails to generate, arrives damaged, or is plainly not what the site promised, email us with your Stripe receipt and we will refund you in full. Because the product is a digital file delivered immediately, we do not otherwise offer refunds for patterns that generated correctly — the free preview exists so you can see exactly what you are buying first.
Availability
The site is provided as it is, without any warranty. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for indirect losses — including wasted fabric, floss or time — arising from use of the site or its patterns. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
These terms may change. The version in force for a purchase is the one published at the time of that purchase.
These terms are written to describe how this site actually works, but they are not legal advice. If you are running this as a business, have a solicitor in your jurisdiction review them, particularly on consumer rights and digital-goods refunds.
